Are you or anyone you know being recognized for efforts within the pharmacy community?
LAKE SUCCESS, NY, JUNE 19, 2024 – CPESN NY, LLC has been named a recipient of a 2024 IPRO Quality Award presented in recognition of its significant achievements in improving healthcare quality. CPESN NY is a participant in the IPRO Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO), spanning 11 states and Washington, DC. QIN-QIO is a federal program focused on improving the quality of care provided to Medicare patients across the United States. It is funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS).
CPESN NY was recognized for its success in integrating a social determinants of health screening and navigation program within community pharmacies. The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and CPESN NY achieved measurable quality improvement outcomes working with the IPRO QIN-QIO on a project to reduce disparities and support equitable care by addressing upstream factors through leveraging connections with local organizations.
“Recognizing providers that achieve measurable improvement in their quality outcomes is an important aspect of the work we do,” said IPRO CEO Ted Will. “It allows us to showcase the meaningful progress that is made through our partnership with provider organizations that implement evidence-based interventions into their processes.”
“We are proud to work with nursing homes, hospitals, community-based providers, and other stakeholders on these important quality improvement initiatives,” said Clare Bradley, MD, IPRO’s Sr. VP and Chief Medical Officer. “CPESN NY and the other honorees exemplify the dedication of healthcare providers across the spectrum who have committed themselves to providing the highest quality of care and have done so despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, staffing shortages, an aging workforce and growing number of patients with complex needs.”
Honorees were celebrated at IPRO’s 40th annual meeting on June 11. That event also featured a keynote address by Timothy Hoff, PhD, Professor of Management, Healthcare Systems, and Health Policy in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business and School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, Northeastern University, in Boston, Massachusetts, on “How AI Can Transform Long-Term Care,” as well as a presentation on “Collaborating for Quality,” by the Administrator for the CMS New York Regional Office, Kathleen Otte.
