The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy & Prescryptive Health, Inc.: Partnering to Improve, Enhance and Streamline Testing Services

In Feb. 2021, The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy began antigen testing of the public with the help of Prescryptive Health, Inc. and their smartphone services.
With this newfound service, Medicine Shoppe approached The Mohawk Homestead, an assisted living center, about weekly rapid antigen testing for employees. With the “Event Testing” service, part of MyRxPro, weekly invitations were sent via text, to each of the employees, with a link to choose a time. This appointment scheduling allowed the Pharmacy to change the cost of the testing based on the event. In this case, it allowed them to schedule employees for testing at no charge to them. The Mohawk Homestead was billed for the cost of the employee testing separately and the testing service was provided for a couple of months until testing restrictions were loosened.
The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy has since then used Prescryptive on numerous occasions due to the increase in COVID-19 cases among employees and staff at The Mohawk Homestead.
- Onsite testing performed twice weekly – to help the facility stay on top of new outbreaks before they became super spreaders. Insurance was billed for testing and results were easily recorded with Prescryptive Health’s services.
- Monoclonal Antibody Therapeutics – was not originally offered and just recently they began performing via sub q injections to those with qualifying factors. Another service with Prescryptive is underway to allow patients to schedule their mAB appointments via smartphone and additionally are looking for assistance in billing for these services.
